Long standing demands for integrated support of Apple's iPod/iPhone in Ubuntu is reality now. Alpha 3 release of Ubuntu 10.04 “Lucid Lynx” offers out-of-the-box support for the iPhone and iPod Touch.

The Nautilus file manager can browse and accesse the tracks and playlists, but that is not really very interesting for common user. But the interesting thing for a common user is that Rythmbox can play tunes from iPhone or iPod Touch. This another step by Canonical to make Ubuntu as cosumer-friendly distribution.
