-------------Error message------------------------------- Probable Causes: 2. Hardware failure in a NIC card or network device. 3. A firewall or Access Control List might be blocking the required protocols/ports mentioned below:- Troubleshooting: 1. If you are using wireless connection, try to connect using cable. 2. Make sure the group name and password is correct. 3. Check the connectivity using ping to remote peer. You should also check the logs of remote peer to investigate the cause, if possible. 4. Another possibility may be the Firewall. Firewall might be blocking the connection. Disable/turn-off the firewall and try again. Test the connection to see whether the problem still occurs. If it doesn’t then you should turn the firewall back ON and add exception rules for port 500 & 4500 and the ESP protocol in the firewall. 5. Set the MTU to 1300 or lower. That will prevent packets from being fragmented and therefore increase performance. To do so, go to the Start -> All Programs -> Cisco Systems VPN Client - > Set MTU and set the value to 1300 or lower. 6. Turn on NAT-T/TCP in your profile. Reemember to unblock port 10000 in the firewall or turn the firewall OFF temporarily. 7. Edit the profile with an editor and change the value of ForceKeepAlive=0 to ForceKeepAlive =1 Hope, this works well for you.
